Jelena Vidojević’s interview with Kaiser Kuo, originally published by the New South Institute on 4 April 2026, has been translated into Russian and republished by Russia in Global Affairs on 9 June 2026.

The interview forms part of Missing Voices: Critical Thinking in Times of Polycrisis, a series edited by Vidojević that brings perspectives often marginalised in mainstream debates on the changing global order into conversation. In this edition, Vidojević speaks with Kaiser Kuo, host and co-founder of the Sinica Podcast and professor-at-large at NYU Shanghai, about China’s role in the crisis of the liberal international order, the future of global power, BRICS and the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, Africa’s position in an emerging post-Western order, and the contested meanings of multipolarity.

The Russian version, titled “Civilization is a Way of Scaling up Homogeneity”, was published by Russia in Global Affairs, a journal focused on international relations, foreign policy, political science, and related social, historical, economic, cultural and military questions. The journal publishes in Russian and English and has been published by the Foreign Policy Research Foundation since 2006.

The republication extends the reach of the Missing Voices series and its engagement with debates on global realignment, civilisational discourse, and the political economy of an emerging multipolar order.
